DUI Child Endangerment
Child endangerment is a misdemeanor criminal offense. It occurs when a person is under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and there is a person in the car under the age of 16.
A second offense child endangerment is a felony. If found guilty of the felony offense you could be facing mandatory jail time and even time in prison.
People drink and drive, this doesn’t make them criminals. You just have to keep the volume of alcohol in check, but lets be honest sometimes we have more than we should or we have a drink that has more alcohol in it then expected. The bottom line is that people make mistakes.
The majority of people that read this will have had a beer at a graduation party, celebrating a raise, birthday, promotion, engagement, etc. Don’t worry, it does not make you a bad person.
