The 52nd District Court First Division is located in Novi, Michigan off of Grand River. 52-1 District Court has jurisdiction over the Townships of White Lake, Rose, Highland, Milford, Lyon, Novi and Commerce; Cities of Novi, South Lyon, Wixom and Walled Lake; and Villages of Milford and Wolverine Lake.

Novi District Court 52-1 Judge MacKenzie:
Judge MacKenzie has been given several awards for domestic violence and drinking and driving programs. Judge MacKenzie should be credited with implementing the sobriety court program at 52-1 District Court, and is President of the Michigan Association of Drug Court Professionals
Judge MacKenzie was appointed to the bench in 1988 and has been reelected by the voters of Novi, White Lake, Highland, Milford, Lyon Township, Rose, Commerce, South Lyon, Wixom, Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake.
Living in Milford, Aaron J. Boria is familiar with the reputation of judge MacKenzie as being a stern judge by defendants. It is untrue that Judge MacKenzie is the father of daughter killed by a drunk driver. The truth is that judge MacKenzie is extremely fair with his rulings.
Novi District Court 52-1 Judge Powers:
Judge Powers was appointed by Governor John Engler in January of 2000, was appointed to a second two-year term beginning 2006 and continues as one of three judges at the 52-1 District Court.
Judge Powers has been a member of many of Michigan’s bar associations and subgroups and continues to be an active member of the community including holding a past presidency of the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce. Judge Powers is a past recipient of the “Keeping Michigan Beautiful” award.
Judge Powers is a fair and neutral judge and reasonable with sentencing.
Novi District Court 52-1 Judge Bondy:
The voters of Novi, White Lake, Highland, Milford, Lyon Township, Rose, Commerce, South Lyon, Wixom, Walled Lake and Wolverine Lake elected Judge Bondy to the bench in 2002.
Judge Bondy helped create the Minor in Possession / Consuming Alcohol Court Program, has been involved considerably in the court’s Sobriety Court/Drug Court Program and should be credited with the creation of several other community programs.
Judge Bondy is a fair judge and allows defense counsel fair motion and trial practice.
