Drunk and Disorderly Conduct

Our client was out with some friends at the bar. He was drinking, and he ran into some of his ex girl friend’s friends. They got to talking and he decided it might be a good idea for him to go talk to her. (I’m sure we can all relate to some poor decision like this at one point or another)

Our client drove over to his ex girlfriends house. When he got there it was late and she may or may not have been asleep. According to the police report he was banging making noise.

The police were called and when they showed up our client was arrested for disorderly conduct drunk in public. He spent the night in the Farmington Hills Police Jail.

47th District Court – Farmington Hills

The 47th District Court is located in Farmington Hills Michigan right off of Orchard Lake Road and has jurisdiction over both Farmington and Farmington Hills.

The 47th District Court has two judges, Judge Marla Parker, and Judge James Brady.

This particular case was heard by Judge James Brady.

After evaluating the case we decided to set the matter for a trial as part of our strategy. As expected, when the day of trial came around the prosecuting attorney could not proceed and the case was dismissed.

Our client was facing 93 days in jail for his offense in addition to substantial fines and costs. Additionally, he was facing up to two years on probation that would have included drug and alcohol testing as well as drug and alcohol education, as well as community service.

He did not get any of these things. Instead our client walked out of the 47th District Court a free man.
