Our client picked up his daughter and drove to Taco Bell after work. On the way home he tried to make a turn from the median into the Napa Auto Parts store. He did not give the car enough gas and a driver in the through lane, who had the right away, could not stop in time and ran into his vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured but the car was totaled. Our client argued that he did not see the car he hit so he left the scene. Our client claimed that when he got home he was so upset about the accident that he started to drink.
Police showed up, did not believe that our client’s story that was sober while driving and arrested him.
At trial, the police officers claimed that they arrived at the house within 20 minutes of the accident occurring. Our client’s blood alcohol level was almost double the legal limit. Like the police, the jury did not believe our client’s story and found him guilty.

After the conviction we did not stop fighting for our client. We were able to negotiate with the judge and and the prosecutor and got out client into a special program where he would be guaranteed no jail and the ability to get his driver license back in less than two months. Essentially, our client got to swing for the fences with a trial.

Very few criminal lawyers have the guts to take a case to trial. Even fewer will continue to fight for a client after the cases is technically over. When you hire a lawyer make sure you are hiring the one that will do everything for you to get the best possible outcome.
